LK-HD-2 bayonet water filling plug · 67mm float length · flip-top · acid-resistant PP
Two motions describe this plug completely. A quarter turn locks it into the cell; a flip of the top opens it for water. Everything else — the venting, the splash protection, the seal — is handled by the body without the operator thinking about it.

Why the Bayonet Matters
A threaded cap in a battery bay gets cross-threaded eventually — usually by someone topping up in a hurry with gloves on. A quarter-turn bayonet cannot be cross-threaded: it either engages and locks or it does not, and the difference is obvious in the hand. That single detail is why this pattern survives on traction batteries where speed matters more than torque.

A Direct Replacement
The plug drops into place of a worn or missing vent plug, which makes it a maintenance part rather than an upgrade. Where a pack has lost caps over the years — and most have — replacing the whole set at once is cheaper than chasing them individually, and it restores a uniform vent behaviour across the string.
Applications
Forklift lead acid batteries, traction and motive power packs, golf cart and floor machine batteries, and manual watering on any 67mm float-length application. The 67mm figure is the fit dimension; confirm it against the cap being replaced rather than assuming from the battery's voltage.
In Daily Use
Flip, fill, close, quarter turn. The whole interaction takes seconds per cell, which is what makes hand watering of an eighteen or twenty-four cell pack realistic. For a site moving to automatic watering later, these plugs can be replaced by system heads without changing anything else on the battery.
When a Plug Will Not Lock
A bayonet that will not turn is nearly always a seating problem rather than a damaged lock: grit on the seat, a pinched seal, or a plug pressed in at an angle. Lift it out, wipe the seat and try again square to the opening. Forcing it is how the lugs on a cell neck get damaged, and a damaged neck will not hold any cap properly.
