 Product Overview 

The LK-CAP-2 is a float-type vent plug (also called a float water filling cap) made for flooded lead-acid batteries. It threads into the filling port of each cell and gives maintenance staff a quick, repeatable way to read and top up the electrolyte level — while still venting the gases produced during charging.

Because a bright float rides on the electrolyte surface, the level can be judged at a glance instead of pulling and re-seating caps across a whole pack. That shortens routine watering, cuts overfilling, and helps stop a cell from being run dry between services.

How the Float Indicator Works

Once screwed into the cell, the float inside the LK-CAP-2 rests on the electrolyte. When the level is correct the float sits at its reference position; as water evaporates and the level falls, the float drops and the indicator clearly changes, telling the operator exactly when the cell needs topping up.

Refilling to the marked point keeps the plates fully covered and the acid concentration stable — the two factors that most affect battery capacity and service life.

 Installation & Maintenance 

Thread the plug into the cell filling port and tighten by hand — do not over-torque the rubber seal or it will distort. During service, top up with distilled or de-ionised water only, to the float reference point and never above it.

Keep the vent path clear: a blocked vent raises internal pressure and can force electrolyte out of the cell. Replace any plug that is cracked, hardened, or missing its seal. Watering interval depends on duty cycle, charge voltage and ambient temperature — heavy-duty forklift packs often need weekly checks in hot weather.

Quality Assurance

Every production lot is inspected for thread fit, seal integrity, float travel and vent flow before packing. The rubber seal is checked for hardness and acid resistance, and each float is tested for buoyancy and repeatability so the level reading stays accurate over time.

Before shipment a sample from each batch is pressure- and function-tested on standard rigs. Third-party inspection or your own on-site QC is welcome.
