Three figures decide which kit is correct, and none of them is difficult to find. Get them right and the installation is a single afternoon; get them wrong and the pack ends up with heads that do not match its caps.

Why the Pipe Length Changes With the Kit
The 6mm line runs head to head, so its length grows with the number of cells: 3m at twelve cells, 4m at eighteen, 5m at twenty-four, 8m at thirty-six and 10m at forty. The 10mm supply line stays at 10m across the range, because it runs from where the tank is parked rather than through the pack.
That is worth knowing if you are adapting a kit to a different pack: the supply line is generous, the head-to-head line is not. A run stretched tight between two heads will pull a plug out of its seat long before the water reaches the end.
How the Level Is Set
Each plug carries a float. As water enters, the level in that cell rises and the float closes the valve; the remaining cells continue until their own valves shut. The flow indicator then stops — the visible end of the job. A lens on each head lets the level be read without opening anything, and tilting the top cover exposes the electrolyte for a temperature check.
Fitting Sequence
Replace the caps along the string in order, join each with its T-piece, fit the indicator at the inlet, close both ends, connect the tank. Fill once and watch: if the flow does not stop, the end plugs or the filter are the first things to check, not the valves.
Common Questions
Is a 36V pack always 18 cells? Normally, but count them — the kit is supplied by heads, not by voltage.
Can the same kit serve a golf car? Yes, golf car and traction packs use the same construction; the count is what differs.
Is water added through the tank only? Yes — the plugs stay in place and are not removed for watering.
What if one cell fills slowly? Check that plug is fully seated and that the filter is clean before assuming a valve fault.
