The Failure a Split Cap Invites
A conventional filler plug is assembled from a body, an insert, a float, a spring seat and a cap. Every joint between those parts is a place where electrolyte crystallises, and crystallised acid is what jams a cap or breaks a small clip. Once a fragment falls into a cell, nothing about the rest of the plug matters.
Moulding the body as a single piece removes those joints. There is no insert to work loose, no internal part to snap, and nothing to reassemble incorrectly after a top-up. The result is a part whose failure mode is largely limited to the seal, which is replaceable by replacing the cap.
Water Retention: Up to 60% Less Loss
The optimised flip cover reduces water loss by up to 60% compared with conventional filler plugs. Less water lost per charge means the electrolyte level stays inside its working band for longer, the acid concentration stays closer to specification, and the interval between top-ups grows. In a fleet, that shows up as fewer packs needing attention in the same shift.
It is worth being precise about the claim: the saving is on evaporation and venting losses, not on water consumed by the charging reaction itself. What it buys is margin — a pack that was marginal between waterings becomes comfortable.
Anti-Corrosion, in Practice
Acid-resistant PP, a body that does not hold electrolyte in crevices, and a vent path that keeps mist inside. The visible benefit is a battery top that stays clean: no white-green deposit around the caps, no crust on the interlinks, and no corrosion creeping into the terminal hardware.
Fit and Supply
75mm, size M, for the common traction battery opening. Packed in standard export cartons for bulk shipment; the same series is used on forklifts, electric vehicles and stationary storage, so a mixed site can standardise on one cap family.
Maintenance Note
Wipe the cap, not the cell. Cleaning around an open cell is how grit and crud end up in electrolyte; the cap is designed to be opened for water and closed immediately, and the less time a cell spends open the better.

Caps are cheap per piece and expensive per interruption. A store that holds a full set for every battery size never has a pack running with a missing cap, which is the condition that lets acid mist onto the surrounding metal.
