A truck that runs two or three shifts has no quiet hour. Watering happens between shifts, by whoever is free, and it has to be finished before the next operator takes the machine. That constraint — not the size of the pack — is what decides whether a 36-cell string gets watered properly.
AWS-36 is the 72V set: thirty-six heads, 7m of 6mm line, a 50L tank. The whole routine is one connection at the K10 coupling and a wait for the indicator to stop.
Tank Size and the Shift Change
50L is chosen for a 36-cell pack, not for convenience. A tank that runs dry mid-fill means a second connection, and a second connection at a shift change is a fill that gets abandoned and finished tomorrow — which is how cells end up low. One tank covers one 72V pack with margin, and it is still light enough for one person to move at the end of a shift.

What a Traction Pack Does Differently
Traction duty is deep cycling. The pack is worked hard, warmed by the load and by the charger, and the warm cells lose water faster than the cool ones. Over a season the string drifts apart: same voltage, same age, different electrolyte levels. A float valve in every head removes the drift at source, because the level is set mechanically rather than judged cell by cell.
The other traction-specific point is access. On many 72V trucks the pack sits in a roller bed, so the line has to allow the bed to travel without tugging on the heads. Leave slack at the coupling end and route the 6mm run along the tray rather than across it.
Service Over a Year
Nothing in the set is designed to be replaced annually. What does get consumed is the filter element in the indicator and the occasional end plug; both are cheap and both are common across the range. The heads are cleaned, not changed, and the valves are not a wear item.
Questions
Will one tank do a whole 72V fleet round? For a single truck per shift, yes. For back-to-back fills a second tank keeps the routine moving.
Does the truck need to be off charge? Fill with the charger off; the pack is normally at rest between shifts anyway.
Can the system stay connected while the truck works? No — connect to fill, disconnect afterwards. The coupling is made for that cycle.
