Everything needed for one pack arrives in one carton. Nothing has to be sourced separately, which is the difference between a kit that gets fitted on arrival and one that sits in the store waiting for a coupling.

The Part That Does the Work

Twelve plugs replace twelve vent caps. Each contains a floater; as the cell fills, the floater rises and the valve shuts. The remaining cells keep filling until their own valves close, at which point the flow indicator stops. That is the entire control logic, and it is why the system needs no power, no timer and no setting.

The plug also carries a lens at the top. A technician can walk the pack and read the level of every cell through the plugs, without removing one. Tilting the cover exposes the electrolyte when a temperature reading is needed at commissioning.

Pipe Sizes and Why Two Are Supplied

The 6mm run is the watering line between heads; the 10mm run is the supply line from the tank to the indicator and along the pack. Supplying both means the installer does not have to match a single size to two different jobs, and it keeps the pressure drop along the supply low enough that the last cell fills as quickly as the first.

Couplings

The range uses male and female couplings K10 and KV6 depending on the run. They are a positive connection, not a push-on: the tank disconnects without tools and reconnects to the same seal, so a tank shared between packs stays reliable.

Fitting Notes

Replace the caps in order along the string so the pipe route follows the interlinks. Keep the head upright, keep a little slack at every T, and leave the end plugs accessible — they are the first place to check if water stops short of the last cell.

Common Questions

Is installation difficult? No hand watering, no cell-by-cell judgement: the caps are replaced, the pipe is run, the tank is connected. That is the whole job.

How are floaters chosen? By cell type and cap pattern; the kit is assembled to the pack rather than picked off a shelf.

Does it extend battery life? It keeps every cell at the same level, which is the condition a lead acid pack needs to reach its expected service life.

Can it be used on 12V or 36V? Yes — the same system is supplied for 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V packs by changing the head count.

Installation, Honestly

The job is not difficult, but it is fiddly in one place: replacing twenty-four or twelve caps on a pack that is already in a truck means working over cells that are close together and often under an interlink. Allow time for it, work along the string in order, and confirm each plug is fully seated before moving on.

After the first fill, walk the pack and read the lenses. Any head that reads different from its neighbours is a plug that is not seated, not a valve problem — and it is much easier to find now than after a month of charging.

Storage of Spares

Keep a spare plug and a metre of pipe in the store. The two failures that stop a system are a damaged head and a cut pipe, and both are five-minute repairs if the parts are on the shelf. Without them, a single damaged plug takes a pack out of automatic watering until a delivery arrives.
