Fitting a 24V Watering System: AWS-12, Step by Step

Twelve cells is the smallest pack in the range and the most often watered by hand, because a 24V truck feels like a job that does not justify a system. It is also the pack most often overfilled: twelve caps, a jug and a torch is exactly the combination that ends with acid on the tray.
AWS-12 is the 24V member of the range. It arrives complete, so the fitting is an afternoon rather than a project.
Step 1 — Count the Cells, Not the Voltage
Twelve 2V cells make a 24V lead-acid pack, and a 24V pack built from two 12V monoblocs is also twelve cells. Same kit either way. What cannot be counted is the cap pattern: bayonet, thread and push-in caps all exist in this class, and the head must match the cap it replaces.

Start at the cell nearest the tank and run the 6mm line along the tray, not across it. The heads rotate on the T-piece, so corners are made by turning the fitting rather than bending the pipe. Close the far end with an end plug and leave the other free for the supply line.
Step 3 — Put the Indicator Where It Can Be Seen
The flow indicator is the only feedback the system gives: water moving while filling, still when the pack is full. If it ends up behind a cover, the operator will fill by guesswork and the system loses most of its value. Fit it on the supply side, visible with the battery door closed.
Step 4 — First Fill
Connect the tank, open the coupling, and let it run until the indicator stops. Do not top up afterwards and do not remove the heads to check: each one has a float that closes at level, and the lens on top shows the level without opening anything.
Step 5 — Keep the Old Caps
Bag them and keep them with the truck paperwork. They are the reference if another machine with an unknown cap pattern arrives later, and they are what the pack goes back to if the system is ever removed.
Questions
Will 20L be enough for one pack? Yes for a 12-cell pack, with margin for a top-up. A tank only has to cover the water the pack takes between services.
Can one tank serve two 24V trucks? Yes — disconnect the K10 coupling and move the tank.
What water? Distilled or deionised. The floats control level, not chemistry.
