Charging connectors are bought in pairs for a reason. The male plug on the charger lead and the female socket on the battery lead wear together, and replacing one half while the other is already worn simply moves the heat to the newer part. The charger-side plug is mated by the same person, at the same height, several times a day; the battery-side socket is mated wherever the truck happens to be parked.
